AQUA WORKSHOP "Quantifying Environmental Impacts in the Salmonid Aquaculture Sector"

Workshop: A workshop on environmental assessment of aquaculture was held in Reykjavík on September 29th 2014. The event is part of the ongoing European project “SENSE” and organized by the University of Iceland and EFLA Engineers in collaboration with EAS (European Aquaculture Society).

Objective: To bring together the salmonids production companies that have tested the SENSE tool and Aquaculture Producer Organisations in several countries (e.g. Iceland, Norway, Denmark, UK) to assess the usefulness and potential of the tool and its place within the monitoring of sustainability in the professional sector.

Participation: More than 30 participants from the countries mentioned above joined the Workshop,– individual producers, association representatives and other industry partners among others.
